California Housing Cooperative Inspired by People’s Movement Assembly Process.

Our Housing Cooperative, Parable of the Sower Intentional Community Cooperative, is a solution that came out of our collective processes called PMA's, People's Movement Assemblies. This process came out of the US Social Forum which was inspired by the World Social Forum.
Our housing solution detailed at the end of the article link below displays our need to use the international/global perspective of cultures around the world. When the in tune elders of Indonsia Tsunami went on higher ground unlike thousands of others, it was a instinctual calling similar to what is happening in our housing crisis.
Our narrative to housing intentional communities aren't from just New Economy prospective of Community Land Trust, Co-Housing, or even Intentional Communities our narrative comes from our ancestors legacies of survival thousands of years ago from living in communes, homesteads, and colonies. A perspective of needing each other to survive.
We describe these legacies as an African Diasporic philosophy known from African asusmas, latin American sociedads, and Brazilian Quilombos, the Boa Morte, the pelenques of Cuba, the Accompong Villages or maroon villages of the Caribbean, and the Gullah/ Geeche of the American South.
When people read of our Housing Community narrative, Parable of the Sower Intentional Community Cooperative, we wish to expand the vocabulary of the homeless realms beyond homeless shelters and HUD properties. We wish to have those of power to "listen to the silenced voices."
