New Orleans- Reparations Town Hall Meeting November 30- December 2, 2017

New Orleans will be hosting a Reparations meeting from November 30- December 2nd. Members of NAARC (National African American Reparations Commission) CARICOM ( Caribbean Community) N'COBRA and other key forces are gathering to assess and discuss the current status of the US and the global reparations movement.
This will be an opportunity for key forces to come together to share strategies to move forward. NAARC will be sharing its 10 Point Preliminary Program and the latest on HR 40. What do we want? How do we get it? This will be some of the questions posed in this timely discussion. Attendees will walk away with clarity on how we are defining Reparations and Reparatory Justice.
The meeting will also focus on the UN Decade of People of African descent. How do we place the issue of Reparations/ Reparative Justice in the three areas of focus for this decade which are Development, Justice and Recognition?

Reparations is a key element in the Freedom Manifesto which calls for a broader gathering of forces to build a National Assembly for Black Liberation. The National Assembly will be successful by including not only the national forces but the international forces that are also demanding justice and equity.
People of African descent are fighting on a daily basis in these three areas wherever we are standing. We are living in times that forces us to come together, share our truth and build a foundation necessary to bring this question forward and create public awareness and action.
